The device houses optics, lighting, and a quad-core processor in one enclosure, providing decentralized image evaluation that reduces network traffic in tightly coupled automation cells.

At the heart of the camera is a Cortex A9 i.MX6 quad core system-on-chip. All four cores run at 800 MHz and share a 1 MB L2 cache, giving enough parallel throughput to preprocess several vision functions simultaneously before results are forwarded to the PLC. The platform is backed by 2 GB of RAM so multiple image buffers can reside in memory without swapping. A sensor with 3.5 MP native resolution captures detail for measurement tasks, while a frame rate of 43 fps maintains continuity on fast conveying lines. The optical front end presents a field of view of 37° through an 8 mm F4 lens seated in an S-mount so lens exchange remains straightforward. The front window is glass with an anti-reflective coating to maximize transmission of the ultraviolet lighting system. Illumination is produced by 16 LEDs arranged in four individually addressable segments, and an LED lens type 2 standard optic shapes the beam. The emitters operate at a peak wavelength of 385 nm, letting fluorescent markers stand out without visible glare. Because the model does not support line-sensor operation, exposure is performed on the area sensor only.
