The VSC122R22.053P-000 is a smart camera produced by B & R Automation and supplied within the VS Smart Sensors series. As a compact vision unit, it combines optics, illumination, and onboard processing so automated inspection, position verification, and code reading can be performed directly on the production line without an external PC. This integrated arrangement allows image capture and evaluation to take place in a single housing. It is well suited to installations where space is limited and embedded analysis is preferred over a separate camera-and-computer setup.

At the heart of the device is an application processor running at 800 MHz. The processor uses 4 ARM Cortex-A9 cores in a Cortex A9 i.MX6 quad-core architecture, allowing several vision tasks to run at the same time. Memory includes 1 MB of L2 cache and 2 GB of DDR3 RAM for temporary image buffers and feature maps. A global-shutter CMOS sensor captures images at 1.3 MP, which helps preserve detail on moving parts before preprocessing begins. A peak capture rate of 165 fps helps keep inspection synchronized with fast-moving conveyors. Illumination is provided by 16 LEDs (4 segments × 4 multicolored), with red, blue, infrared, or white light available and each segment addressable for directional lighting. This helps the camera adapt to different surface finishes and code-reading tasks. The front window uses a glass diffuser to even out the emitted light, while the S-mount holder secures the lens assembly for consistent inline imaging.
