This model combines imaging, processing, and illumination in a single housing so it can execute one active vision function directly on the machine. In an automation cell, the unit captures images, evaluates them internally, and transmits discrete pass/fail or measurement data to the PLC, eliminating the need for a separate industrial PC.
Computation is handled by a Cortex A9 i.MX6 quad-core processor clocked at 800 MHz, and the four cores share 2 GB of DDR3 RAM so multiple algorithms such as edge detection or code reading can run without memory swapping. A dedicated 1 MB L2 cache reduces latency between the CPU and RAM, improving deterministic response times required on high-speed machines. The global shutter sensor delivers up to 165 fps, allowing inspection of rapidly moving parts on conveyors. At its native 1.3 MP resolution, the device balances field of view with data volume, keeping image transfers short while providing sufficient detail for moderate-size features.
