The CDB Control Units from Bosch Rexroth IndraDrive are BASIC UNIVERSAL double-axis control sections that implement the complete control functionality for two digital axes in a single unit, helping reduce cabinet space while keeping a modular IndraDrive architecture.
They are designed to interface with higher-level control systems through selectable control communication options such as Sercos, PROFIBUS, and Multi-Ethernet, enabling cyclic exchange of command/actual values along with status and diagnostic information. Standard onboard connections include digital inputs/outputs, analog I/O capability (depending on configuration), relay outputs, and an RS-232 service/commissioning interface, with startup supported through IndraWorks and an operator panel option. The series supports flexible feedback integration via integrated and optional encoder interface choices, plus options for encoder emulation outputs and I/O expansion, and it can store axis-oriented drive parameters for both axes on an optional MultiMediaCard. Safety functionality can be integrated directly in the drive via available safety options (including Safe Torque Off and Safe Motion variants), providing a route to certified safety implementations while minimizing external monitoring components and wiring.
