Product Description:
The CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-EM-S5-S5-EM-NN-FW is a modular control unit from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the CDB Control Units series. It supplies signal conditioning, fieldbus communication, and safety logic for coordinating multi-axis servo drives in industrial automation cells. The unit acts as the link between the power inverter stage and higher-level controllers, so feedback handling, command exchange, and safety supervision can be managed from one platform.
Two differential analog input channels are sampled through a 12-bit EC converter with a 400 kHz cutoff frequency, giving high-resolution feedback over a broad bandwidth. After processing, commands can be issued on ±10 V analog outputs for legacy speed or torque loops. The EC front end maintains an input resistance of 120 ohms to match standard encoder cable impedance and reduce signal reflection. Digital position feedback is accepted through the EC/EC interfaces, while identical EM/EM signals can be generated by the board's encoder emulation stage. For system wiring, feedback plugs into a D-Sub 15-pin male header, and the factory-installed Multi-Ethernet module exposes an RJ-45, 8-pin port for the control network. S5 encoder evaluation circuitry can process two independent resolver channels.
On the process control side, the board offers 2 AI + 2 AO channels for analog signals and a block of 14 DI + 8 DI/DO lines for machine-level switching, enabling mixed-signal interfacing without extra modules. Deterministic data transfer to the PLC is carried over a 100Base-TX link, one of the physical layers supported by the communication stack. Functional safety is handled internally by the S5 / S5 safe-motion option, which allows velocity and position limits to be supervised without external relays. This arrangement supports direct connection of machine-level sensors, switches, and analog references in the same control section, which helps reduce the need for separate interface hardware.
