The CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-NN-S4-S4-DA-NN-NW control unit is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as a member of the CDB Control Units series. Designed to be plugged onto an HMD01 power section, it forms the core of a modular drive package that closes loops for multiple axes, converts sensor data, and exchanges motion commands with higher-level controllers through Multi-Ethernet links. This arrangement makes the unit the interface between electric servomotors and plant-wide automation systems.
The base consumption of the controller is 23 W, so auxiliary supplies can be sized without a large safety margin. Its two differential analog input channels accept signals of ±10 V and 0–20 mA, and the analog output channel can provide control references for compatible devices. For process variables that need higher resolution, the DA section offers 2 inputs and 2 outputs that are sampled and updated synchronously with the servo cycle. The digital I/O includes 6 inputs, 2 configurable inputs, and 6 outputs, which support fast limit switches and status flags. Both the 12 V and 5 V encoder rails can each deliver up to 500 mA, permitting the use of high-current multi-turn feedback devices without an external supply.
Axis-related functions are tied together by the dual-feedback backplane, which hosts 2 × Multi-Encoder interfaces and lets the drive process EnDat, Hiperface, or resolver signals on each channel without an adapter. Network traffic is routed through two integrated Ethernet jacks and supports SERCOS III/EtherCAT/EtherNet/IP/PROFINET IO for deterministic motion and standard PLC data on the same hardware. Hardware flexibility is expanded by 4 optional slots that accept extension cards for additional I/O or fieldbus formats.
