The CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-EM-S4-S4-EM-NN-FW is a modular control section produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CDB Control Units series. Installed in IndraDrive power stacks, it supervises axis positioning, safety, and field communication throughout industrial automation cells. The module mates with an HMD01 power section to form a complete drive controller, and its onboard processors coordinate motion commands, feedback handling, and peripheral signals required in packaging machines, material-handling systems, and general machinery. Because control and power functions are separated, the section can focus on command processing and interface management while the power stage delivers motor current. It also manages encoder-related and peripheral connections within the modular stack, keeping motion control functions centralized in the control section.

Stable low-voltage operation is provided by a supply of 24 V DC, which powers the logic circuits and connected encoders even when the main bus is de-energized. For discrete signal handling, the unit offers 14 digital inputs that accept standard 24 V signals from limit switches or PLC outputs. Two independent analog channels are supported through 2 analog inputs for sensor feedback and 2 analog outputs for drive-controlled setpoints. Versatility is extended with 8 configurable I/O points that can be set as additional inputs or outputs to match machine wiring. Two encoder-emulation sockets, two multi-encoder ports, and four probe inputs support feedback sharing, external monitoring, and high-speed position latching.

The unit has 4 optional slots for safety or fieldbus cards alongside the standard interfaces. Integrated safety logic supervises up to 2 safe motion axes, while the paired power stage executes the commanded torque and speed profiles.
