It serves as the logic section that processes command and feedback data for servo drives used in industrial automation. By housing communication, encoder, and safety circuitry on one card, the device streamlines cabinet layouts and reduces the external wiring normally required to coordinate multiple axes. This arrangement lets the drive system handle axis release, feedback evaluation, and network exchange from a centralized control layer. Its design is suitable for compact drive packages used in conveyor, packaging, and material-handling machines.
This unit supervises 2 motion channels, so a single card can coordinate a pair of drives without extra modules. Internal losses are capped at 9 W, which helps limit heat buildup inside the enclosure during continuous operation. Command exchange with higher-level controllers is handled through the Sercos II bus, and the link is carried on a fiber-optic ring that resists electrical noise in industrial cabinets. X4.1 supplies 12 V to IndraDyn, Hiperface, 1 Vpp, or TTL sensors, X4.2 provides 5 V for EnDat 2.1, 1 Vpp, or TTL devices, and X8.2 feeds HSF or RSF transducers with 8 V. Field I/O and service lines terminate at the 9-pin female D-Sub X41 connector.
