Product Description:
The CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-NN-L3-L3-NN-NN-AW control unit is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CDB Control Units series. Designed for multi-axis drive systems, the module manages feedback, safety, and fieldbus tasks for each connected power section. In an automation cell, it sits between the higher-level PLC and the servo inverters, translating motion commands, collecting sensor states, and enabling Safe Torque Off when required. By combining encoder processing, flexible I/O, and integrated Ethernet switching, the unit reduces panel space and wiring in packaging, handling, and machining lines.
This model provides 14 digital inputs for limit switches, sensors, or start signals, while 8 configurable digital I/O can be assigned as either inputs or outputs to adapt to machine-specific logic. For analog process values, the board carries 2 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs, giving the drive access to velocity, tension, or pressure references without external converters. The EC channel has a 400 kHz EC sine cutoff, and high-resolution square-wave feedback is accepted up to a 1000 kHz square-wave input frequency. The internal supply provides 5 V or 12 V at 500 mA for incremental or absolute encoders, and four probe inputs capture edge-accurate position marks for camming routines. Four empty option slots permit the installation of additional safety, fieldbus, or memory cards.
On the network side, the unit supports Multi-Ethernet communication. Two daisy-chained connections use the RJ-45, 8-pin Ethernet port format and follow the 100Base-TX standard. Safety is handled independently through the STO (Safe Torque Off) interface, which uses six dedicated pins to interrupt torque-producing power on both axes. Cable runs may extend to 100 m, allowing the control cabinet to be located away from moving machinery without repeaters. A multi-encoder interface accepts sine-cosine, EnDat, or Hiperface formats for dual-axis feedback.
