This control section supplies a fixed analog reference of 5 V with a resolution of 19.5 mV/inc. The corresponding output driver can source up to 1 mA for proportional valves or external monitors, and the S3 expansion draws only 1 W to minimize heat inside the drive rack. A single RJ-45, 8-pin connector hosts the Ethernet interface that follows the IEEE 802.3 physical layer, while cyclic and acyclic drive data move over SERCOS III.
