The CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-NN-SB-SB-DA-NN-FW is a dual-axis control unit from the CDB Control Units series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. Designed for cabinet installation in multi-protocol motion systems, the module coordinates drives and feedback devices as the command layer between higher-level PLCs and individual servo amplifiers. In industrial automation, it provides deterministic position, speed, and torque control for two mechanical axes while allowing integrated safety and fieldbus communication through its embedded Ethernet hardware.
The unit controls 2 axes and is powered by a control supply of 24 V, so its internal logic and I/O can operate independently of the main drive bus. Each axis accepts differential analog velocity or torque commands across an input span of ±10 V and can retransmit conditioned process values over a matching analog output channel. Two Multi-Ethernet controllers support deterministic traffic on EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and other protocols while retaining compatibility with 100Base-TX physical media. Network cabling connects through a pair of internal switches, permitting daisy-chain topology through the two front-mounted ports. Feedback flexibility is provided by two Multi-Encoder interfaces that can source resolver reference carriers at 8 kHz and supply regulated power to 5 V and 12 V encoders.
Field wiring terminates on front connectors, and each Ethernet port uses a RJ-45, 8-pin jack with auto-negotiation across the two embedded switches. Logic inputs recognize a high state at 15 V, and the card can be expanded through an optional digital and analog I/O extension board when additional points are needed. The encoder sockets can source up to 500 mA at 5 V, while the separate 12 V rail uses the same current limit for legacy devices and the digital outputs can drive downstream actuators at that current per point. Functional safety is implemented through 2 x Safe Motion Bus communication paths, allowing certified motion-integrity monitoring without external relays.
