The CDB01.1C-S3-EN1-EN1-NNN-NNN-S2-S-NN-FW is a controller option card produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CDB Control Units series. Mounted on an IndraDrive power section, it supervises two independent motion axes and links the inverter stage to upper-level machine control. Its role is to execute current, speed, and position loops, evaluate encoder signals, and pass synchronized commands so conveyors, pick-and-place modules, and packaging stations can move in a coordinated way. This arrangement lets one control layer manage drive behavior while the power section handles motor output.
Real-time communication with adjacent drives occurs over the SERCOS III fiber ring, while the internal current loop refreshes every 125 µs to keep torque ripple low. The electronics draw only 9 W of base power, which helps reduce panel heat in multi-axis racks. One differential analog input accepts speed or torque references, and two analog outputs deliver process status to external indicators. A single relay with 1 N/O contact can be wired for drive-ready or fault reporting. Captured position signals on the EN1 channel are digitized with a 12-bit converter, and resolvers are excited with 18.2 Vpp so transducer saturation is avoided.
Inrush control limits bus charging to 6 A for 60 ms when the unit powers up, which helps protect supply capacitors and upstream breakers. Once active, cyclic data can be exchanged on the ring in as little as 1000 µs, and service access over RS-232 is possible with cables up to 15 m without signal conditioning. The EN1 sensor supply also provides 8 V DC for resolver electronics, and the interface supports Resolver/HSF feedback so absolute rotor position is available immediately after enable. Safe Motion functions are integrated, allowing STO, SS1, and related measures to be executed without extra hardware.
