Product Description:
The CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-EM-SB-SB-EM-NN-FW control section is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the CDB Control Units series. It plugs into IndraDrive power modules and serves as the logic core that links servo axes, encoder feedback, and plant networks within automated production equipment. The board’s purpose is to aggregate field signals and safety data so that coordinated motion profiles can be executed without a remote PLC taking over every low-level task. Its modular form lets machine builders scale axis counts.
It offers Multi-Ethernet communication, permitting the same hardware to run EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or EtherCAT through a single RJ-45 connector. For process sensing, there are 14 digital inputs that accept 24 V signals, plus 8 configurable digital I/O points that can be assigned as inputs or outputs during setup. Precision analog handling is provided by 2 analog inputs (±10 V) and 2 analog outputs (±10 V). These channels let the drive read reference voltages or transmit speed commands to external regulators. Four optional card slots remain available so additional fieldbus, encoder, or safety modules can be inserted as needed, while the 4 probe inputs capture edge-aligned time stamps for camming functions.
Encoder servicing is handled by 2 multi-encoder interfaces that sample position data at 12-bit resolution with a cutoff frequency of up to 400 kHz, allowing high-speed rotary and linear feedback devices to be connected without aliasing. Two channels of encoder emulation can mirror incremental signals for auxiliary axes, and the 120 Ω input resistance terminates the line internally to maintain signal integrity. Network wiring follows the 100Base-TX (IEEE 802.3u) standard over shielded twisted-pair cable up to 100 m, routed through an 8-pin RJ-45 port interface. Functional safety is integrated through two Safe Motion Bus links, ensuring that STO, SS1, or safe limited speed functions continue to operate even when the main controller is disabled.
