It is intended for multi-axis drive packages where centralized motion logic and integrated safety channels must share a compact slot in the IndraDrive modular system. The card supplies encoder power, evaluates feedback, processes fieldbus telegrams, and passes setpoint data to the attached power sections that energize the motors used in industrial handling, packaging, and material-forming machines.
An analog monitor channel provides a resolution of 19.5 mV/inc, allowing the drive to output finely graded diagnostic or process voltages to external test equipment. Command exchange with higher-level PLCs is handled through SERCOS II, so cyclic setpoints and real-time status travel over fiber at deterministic intervals. Binary inputs switch low when the source is at 5 V and switch high once the signal reaches 15 V, while the digital output stage can sink or source up to 500 mA for pilot relays or optocoupler interface boards. For position feedback, the board feeds the En1 track with 8 V, while an additional En2 rail at 5 V and an Ens rail at 12 V support secondary encoders or multiturn resolvers without external supplies.

A MiniDIN, 8-pin female RS-232 port supports service tools at rates to 115 kBaud across cable runs as long as 15 m.
