Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat builds the CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-EM-S4-S4-NN-NN-FW as part of the CDB Control Units series. Installed on an IndraDrive power section, this control unit translates fieldbus commands, local I/O, and feedback signals into real-time velocity and position profiles for connected servo axes. By combining network communication, analog processing, and encoder handling on one board, it streamlines motion tasks in packaging lines, printing machines, and material-handling cells. The integrated layout keeps communication and feedback handling in the same control unit.
The controller communicates over Multi-Ethernet, while the copper link is carried by a 100Base-TX PHY that sustains deterministic 100 Mbit/s traffic. Two ±10 V analog inputs let PLCs forward process variables, and a matched pair of ±10 V analog outputs reproduce reference values with a resolution of 24 mV/incr. These analog channels let the unit exchange reference values with external controllers or process hardware. The unit also has 14 digital inputs for limit switches or mode selects, plus eight configurable DIO lines that can be assigned as sources or sinks. Four probe inputs timestamp fast-edge events for registration marks, and encoder feedback is accepted through 2 × Multi-Encoder interfaces that support EnDat, SSI, or incremental formats. An encoder-emulation channel lets downstream drives receive synthetic position signals, and the onboard relay handles inductive loads up to 1 A. The analog section draws only 2.7 W from the ET auxiliary supply.
Functional safety is embedded, and the unit supervises 2 safe motion axes while delivering diagnostics over the same fieldbus. Its safe low-side driver can source up to 350 mA for external contactors. Four optional slots accept expansion cards such as additional encoder channels or fieldbus adapters. Safety diagnostics remain available on the same network used for motion control, so status data does not require a separate interface. This allows interface functions to be added without increasing the panel footprint.
