Mounted inside an IndraDrive power stage, it supplies the command processing and fieldbus link needed to run servo axes in automated machinery. Its role is to translate PLC telegrams into drive-level motion commands and to monitor encoder feedback in real time. This allows coordinated axis control within a compact drive platform used for synchronized machine movement.

The control hardware uses a 2-axis architecture, so one board can operate two motors at the same time. Each channel provides two analog inputs and two analog outputs with 12-bit resolution, allowing reference and feedback values to be handled with consistent signal detail. System timing is governed by the SERCOS III interface, which provides deterministic communication between the drive and the higher-level control. This safety circuit is powered from a separate 24 V DC source, allowing fail-safe shutdown even if the main control power is lost. Keeping the safety supply separate also allows status communication to remain available while torque generation is disabled.
