The board manages drive functions for two servo axes, merges fieldbus traffic, and handles feedback so that coordinated motion can be issued directly from the cabinet. Its mixed-signal design lets one module supervise analog references, discrete sensors, encoder channels, and safety logic inside automated packaging, printing, or assembly stations.
This unit communicates over Multi-Ethernet for deterministic real-time data exchange, while an additional PROFIBUS channel permits linkage to legacy PLC networks. It coordinates 2 control axes so synchronized positioning can be achieved without external master hardware. For discrete sensing, it supplies 14 digital inputs, each sampled by the internal processor, and source drivers deliver up to 500 mA of digital output current to actuate contactors or indicator lamps. Eight channels can be reassigned as inputs or outputs, giving 8 configurable digital I/O that adapt the controller to machine-specific signals. The probing subsystem operates with a 4 µs probe pulse width, minimizing timing error when registering fast targets.
