Installed on IndraDrive power sections, this unit supervises drive current, position, and communication tasks in industrial automation systems that require coordinated multi-axis motion. It supplies the signal-processing layer between fieldbus masters and the drive power electronics, allowing precise command execution for servo motors, linear actuators, and auxiliary axes on packaging, printing, and semiconductor tools.
Drive logic is powered from a 24 V DC control supply, keeping internal electronics active even when mains power is off. A current-loop update every 125 µs lets the controller correct torque quickly, while the internal PWM stage switches at 4 kHz so output currents follow reference values with minimal ripple. The unit has 18 opto-isolated discrete input channels that accept limit switches or sensor flags, and four additional terminals can be configured as digital inputs or outputs for handshake signals. One analog input accepts a ±10 V reference signal. The board also provides two HSF/RSF encoder ports for sin-cos feedback and two touch-probe inputs for position capture at microsecond resolution. Master control data reaches the unit through the SERCOS interface, while an RS-232 service port provides local access.
Total controller dissipation is only 7.5 W, which helps reduce cabinet heat load. Integrated Safe Motion enables certified functions such as safe stop and limited speed without extra relays. The housing measures 322.6 mm in height and 49.5 mm in width, allowing dense side-by-side mounting on DIN rails next to additional CDB or CPA sections. One relay output provides drive-ready feedback to a higher-level PLC, and the single front-panel LED stack reports operating state, communication status, and diagnostic codes.
