Product Description:
The CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-NN-S4-S4-NN-FW is a modular control unit manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CDB Control Units series. It forms the command layer for drive packages, supplying logic power and signal conditioning to the connected power section while coordinating two motion axes in industrial automation cells. By hosting safety, feedback, and network interfaces in a single enclosure, it streamlines cabinet wiring and simplifies drive setup. The unit is intended for integrated servo applications where command processing and interface handling are combined in one module.
Internally, the device draws a base load of 23 W from the 24 V rail. Field communication is handled by the Multi-Ethernet interface, so PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, or SERCOS III can be selected without hardware changes. The unit has 14 digital inputs for direct status capture, and two of them can act as probe channels. The network stack requires 2.7 W, and the motion safety logic uses one Safe Motion (S4) channel per axis for STO or SS1 functions. Position feedback for both axes is provided by a multi-encoder interface that can detect EnDat 2.2, Hiperface DSL, or resolver signals. Two ±10 V analog inputs and two ±10 V analog outputs also support legacy velocity or torque references, allowing the unit to work with both networked and analog control schemes.
For machine logic, the unit provides 8 configurable DIO points that can be set as inputs or outputs, which reduces the need for small relay boards. Expansion is available through 4 optional slots for additional encoder or fieldbus cards, giving the control section more interface flexibility when required. The controller mates directly with the HMD01 power section, so only bus and motor leads leave the assembly. This direct connection helps keep the installation compact and reduces extra internal cabling between the control and power stages. The combination of safety functions, analog channels, and flexible feedback support allows coordinated drive control without external splitters.
