The CDB01.1C-S3-ENS-EN1-NNN-NNN-L1-S-NN-FW is a modular control unit produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CDB Control Units series. Designed to coordinate up to two drive axes, it mounts into an IndraDrive power section and acts as the interface between motion commands and power electronics in automated machinery. By handling feedback conversion, network messaging, and a Single-Line Display, the unit provides centralized command for servo and spindle applications on assembly lines, packaging equipment, and material-handling stations.
Network integration is managed through the SERCOS bus, and the unit communicates with controllers over a SERCOS III channel through an RJ-45 8-pin port while operating only in slave mode. Internal consumption remains low because the base circuitry draws only 9 W. Two general-purpose analog channels can source or sink signals at up to 5 V, 1 mA for reference values or monitor signals. Each digital output can deliver up to 500 mA, while an HSF sensor port supplies 8 V at 250 mA for Hyperface encoders. Power-up surges are limited to 6 A, and switching commands are limited to a maximum pulse width of 60 ms. The ENS encoder interface is filtered at 500 kHz to reduce noise on high-speed feedback lines.
The enable-signal section furnishes an ENS rail of 11.6 V that can source up to 500 mA, delivering isolated power for EnDat or similar encoders. A resolver channel is available and provides excitation at 18.2 Vpp, 4 kHz so that traditional sine-cosine sensors can be evaluated by the control logic. For machine-level safety, the starting-lockout input must receive 24 V / 3 mA before the unit will release the drives from the hardware inhibit state. These circuits allow the control unit to handle encoder power, resolver processing, and interlock monitoring within the same module.
