Product Description:
The CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-NN-NN-NN-NN-NN-AW is a dual-axis control unit manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CDB Control Units series. Installed between the machine controller and the drive power stage, it organizes motion commands, feedback signals, and field I/O so that servo axes follow programmed trajectories with deterministic timing. In plant automation, it is paired with drive power sections to coordinate positioning, velocity, and auxiliary logic for packaging machines, handling robots, and material-processing lines.
This model communicates with upper-level networks through a Multi-Ethernet interface that supports industrial protocols over 100Base-TX media. The physical connection is provided by a shielded RJ-45, 8-pin socket, allowing straightforward cabling to switches or PLCs. For discrete machine signals, the board provides 14 digital inputs and 8 configurable digital I/O points, so sensor states and actuator signals can be handled without external adapters. Two analog input channels accept ±10 V process values, while two analog outputs return control data such as torque demand to supervisory equipment. Each axis uses a Multi-Encoder Interface, allowing EnDat, SSI, or Hiperface feedback devices to be connected without add-on cards. The unit also includes four probe inputs for edge-triggered position latching in registration tasks.
The encoder supply rails deliver 500 mA at 12 V and 500 mA at 5 V, allowing incremental or absolute encoders to be powered directly from the control unit. Four optional positions can accept safety modules, additional I/O, or fieldbus expanders, and the base configuration includes 4 optional slots. Axis-related safe torque off hardware is not installed, so Safety Axis 1 and Safety Axis 2 remain inactive unless an expansion card is added. The board mates electrically with the HMD01 power section, forming a compact drive stack that shares a common DC link and cooling concept while reducing panel space.
