This control unit is installed on IndraDrive power sections to process command data, manage feedback devices, and forward real-time fieldbus traffic, allowing coordinated axis control in industrial automation cells. The device connects higher-level controllers through Multi-Ethernet, meaning it can switch between several Ethernet-based protocols without hardware changes.
Physical transmission follows the 100Base-TX standard, so common Cat5e cabling and standard network switches can be used. Internal electronics draw only 9 W at idle, limiting cabinet heat load and reducing power-supply demand. When the DC bus is energized, the inrush limiter caps startup current at 6 A, preventing nuisance tripping of upstream protection. Resolver and HSF inputs on Encoder Interface 1, plus EnDat 2.1, 1 Vpp, or 5 V TTL signals on Encoder Interface 2, let the control unit evaluate both absolute and incremental feedback without external converters.
