Internal Product Review
The CDB01.1C-SE-EN2-EN2-ENS-NNN-S1-S-NN-FW is a Bosch Rexroth Indramat CDB control unit with SERCOS II communication and 2-axis capability. Dual EN2 axis encoder interfaces paired with an ENS additional encoder interface support precise feedback integration. A 125 µs current control cycle and 1000 µs minimum SERCOS cycle make this unit a strong choice for responsive multi-axis motion control.

Product Description:
The CDB01.1C-SE-EN2-EN2-ENS-NNN-S1-S-NN-FW is a drive control module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the CDB Control Units series. Installed on the front of an IndraDrive power section, it supervises motor current and acquires encoder feedback. It also exchanges motion commands with higher-level PLCs so multiple axes in automated machinery such as packaging stations and pick-and-place gantries can remain synchronized. This arrangement keeps motion control, feedback handling, and safety-related connections on the same front-mounted unit.
This module is engineered for 2 motion channels that are regulated by a current loop executing every 125 µs. Each axis accepts feedback through 2 × EN2 incremental encoder ports supplied at 5.0 V, while real-time setpoint and diagnostic data are transferred over the SERCOS II fiber-optic bus. The shortest allowable bus frame is 1000 µs, enabling tight synchronization between the drives and the PLC scan cycle. Separate encoder inputs let the control section process feedback for two axes without requiring an external interface card. An additional 11.6 V supply powers ENS feedback devices, and two type-2 plus two type-3 probe inputs capture positional events for registration tasks.
System integration is simplified by the built-in ENS universal encoder channel that complements the incremental links and by two analog outputs that can stream torque or velocity values to external recorders. These outputs can mirror internal operating values for test equipment or supervisory devices that require a continuous electrical signal. An asynchronous maintenance port supports up to 115 kBaud over RS-232 for local service access and parameter transfer. The S1 safety layer provides S1 Safety Technology I/O, allowing the drive to execute safe torque off and safe stop without extra relays. One normally open relay contact offers field-side signaling, and the board also provides a D-Sub 9 female connector for the safety circuit.
