The CDB01.1C-PB-ENS-ENS-NNN-MA1-S1-S-NN-FW is a dual-axis control unit produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CDB Control Units series. It is installed in drive cabinets to coordinate servo infeed, motion sequencing, and integrated safety for industrial machinery. By combining fieldbus communication, encoder evaluation, analog I/O, and safety relays, the unit serves as the central command layer between higher-level PLC systems and the power stage of IndraDrive amplifiers.

This model drives up to 2 axes and exchanges cyclic setpoints and diagnostics over the PROFIBUS-DP interface. The motor feedback cables land on a D-Sub 15 female connector, and each standard encoder evaluation channel is energized by 12 V. The controller supplies Ma1 functionality with two analog outputs, two differential inputs, and a resolution of 12 bits, which is useful for speed reference or process monitoring signals. Two additional D-Sub 9 connectors carry fieldbus lines and safety circuits, while the internal logic supervises a pair of standard ENS encoder interfaces, each reporting position through separate counting hardware. Safety inputs operate at 24 V DC and draw only 3 mA, minimizing load on field wiring, while the matching safety connector uses the same format as the PROFIBUS connection. During power-up, the module draws a typical inrush current of 6 A, so line fusing must account for this short-term surge. The maximum accepted pulse width of 60 ms supports fast position latching during coordinated motion. Separate relay and safety outputs let the control unit manage enable circuits and external contactors directly from the cabinet.
