The CDB01.1C-S3-ENS-ENS-EN2-MEM-NN-S-NN-FW is a plug-in control section manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CDB Control Units series. Inserted into an IndraDrive power stage, it coordinates encoder feedback, fieldbus communication, and local I/O so that servo axes follow commanded motion profiles in automated packaging, printing, or material-handling equipment. Acting as the electronic control center of the drive, the card converts network data into real-time position, speed, and torque commands for the connected power module.
For network integration, the unit communicates over SERCOS III, giving deterministic cyclic exchange with higher-level PLCs. Two monitor channels provide analog test points: one can source up to 1 mA, and the other delivers a reference of 5 V, allowing oscilloscopes to trace internal variables without additional interface hardware. When the drive is energized, an inrush of 6 A occurs, so supply breakers must tolerate that brief surge; once running, the electronics consume only 9 W. Slot 4 carries the Encoder Emulation option that reproduces incremental signals at up to 1 MHz, enabling external counters or legacy CNC controls to read position from the digital drive. Each pulse can be stretched to a maximum width of 60 ms so the replica stays valid even for slow downstream electronics. The unit has no integrated safety functions, so emergency-stop and STO tasks must be handled by external devices.
The housing measures 49.5 mm wide, 103 mm deep, and 322.6 mm high, allowing the card to fit beside adjacent drive sections without exceeding standard cabinet depths. A standard control panel on the front door supports local parameter entry and diagnostics. Encoder channels 1 and 2 accept IndraDyn, HIPERFACE, 1Vss, or TTL feedback, while channel 3 works with EnDat 2.1, 1Vss, or TTL signals, allowing the same control unit to handle mixed motor types on one machine. The emulated incremental output can be routed up to 40 m, so remote follower axes or process monitors receive clean position information without additional amplifiers.
