Product Description:
The CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-EC-S5-S5-NN-NN-AW control unit is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CDB Control Units series. Installed in IndraDrive power sections, it coordinates sensors, network traffic, and feedback loops for multiple servo axes used in industrial automation cells. By combining signal conditioning, I/O processing, and safety monitoring on one board, it serves as the command layer for motion control in packaging lines, material-handling stations, and assembly equipment. This arrangement lets the drive exchange operating data with external controllers while managing local axis functions inside the power section.
The on-board converter digitizes process signals with a 12 bit A/D width, while incoming reference voltages are resolved to 14 bit for accurate command interpretation. Two analog outputs are generated with a granularity of 24 mV/incr, allowing proportional speed or torque commands to be sent to connected circuitry. The module also provides two differential analog voltage inputs and fourteen digital inputs, and 8 of those channels are configurable so they can switch between sensing and actuation as the machine requires. For encoder feedback, the board supplies up to 500 mA at 5 V, which supports high-resolution absolute encoders and helps keep feedback electronics powered from the drive.
The Ethernet port follows the 100Base-TX physical layer for 100 Mbit/s communication with higher-level controllers. The unit has 4 optional slots for extension cards, and dedicated probe inputs capture position latches during high-speed registration events. A square-wave counter accepts signals up to 1000 kHz, which allows direct evaluation of linear scales and fast spindles without extra conversion hardware. Integrated safety is rated as Safe Motion S5, providing drive-based STO, SS1, and SOS functions. The relay output can switch loads up to 1000 mA, and the Multi-Ethernet interface supports EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and EtherCAT communication on the same platform.
