Internal Product Review
The CDB01.1C-SE-EN1-EN1-EN2-MEM-S1-S-NN-FW is a Bosch Rexroth Indramat CDB control unit built for double-axis applications with SERCOS II communication. Resolver and HSF support on EN1 pairs well with EnDat 2.1 / 1 Vpp / 5 V TTL on EN2, giving the control unit excellent encoder flexibility in mixed-motion systems. Encoder emulation adds practical commissioning value, while Safety Technology I/O strengthens integrated machine protection.

Product Description:
The CDB01.1C-SE-EN1-EN1-EN2-MEM-S1-S-NN-FW is a plug-in control section produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the CDB Control Units series. Mounted on an IndraDrive power module, it supervises positioning, velocity, and safety functions in packaging machines, material handling cells, and similar automation lines. The board converts network data into real-time drive commands, processes feedback from multiple encoder types, and provides user I/O for cabinet integration. Because it is a plug-in control section, motor power conversion remains in the host drive module while the board handles command processing and feedback evaluation.
Its analog monitor channel sources 5 V, 1 mA, which is useful for reference generation or diagnostics. The hardware uses a double-axis configuration, so one board can supervise two inverters without external splitters. Internal consumption is limited to 9 W, which helps reduce additional heat inside the cabinet. Motion commands and status data travel over SERCOS II, allowing cycle-synchronous communication with the master PLC. Each digital input draws only 3 mA, and resolver plus HSF signals enter through the EN1 connector while EN2 accepts EnDat 2.1, 1 Vpp, or 5 V TTL feedback, allowing different encoder formats on the same axis pair.
The I/O rail is powered from a dedicated DC 24 V feed, and when the unit is energized it momentarily pulls up to 6 A, so the source must handle that inrush. Safety Technology I/O channels share this supply and can switch external devices at 24 V and 0.5 A through the D-Sub 9 female connector. Command pulses received on the safe-stop input are accepted when their duration stays below 60 ms, which helps prevent stale signals from being recognized. An RS232 service port is included for local service access and diagnostics. The MEM slot provides encoder emulation quadrature so auxiliary controllers or tachometers can receive speed and position data, and a 24 V, 1 A relay contact supplies a ready-to-operate signal for external interlocks.
