The CDB01.1C-PB-ENS-ENS-EN2-EN2-NN-S-NN-FW control unit is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the CDB Control Units series. It mounts on an IndraDrive power section and forms the logic core for two-channel drive packages used in packaging, material-handling, and assembly systems. By translating fieldbus commands into pulse-accurate axis control while capturing encoder feedback, the module enables precise positioning and speed regulation within automated production lines. Because the control electronics are installed directly on the drive, command processing and feedback evaluation stay close to the power section.

This model supervises 2 axes that exchange cyclic data over the PROFIBUS network, allowing coordinated operation with higher-level PLCs. Each channel accepts sensor signals limited to 24 VDC / 3 mA, which protects the input circuitry while supporting common proximity switches. Actuator lines are provided at 24 VDC / 0.5 A, allowing the unit to drive indicator lamps or external interposing relays directly. One isolated analog stage sources 5 VDC / 1 mA, and this reference can bias potentiometers or incremental transducers without using an external supply. These values set the electrical limits so connected peripherals stay within the controller's loading range and signal tolerance.

Dedicated supply rails feed the encoder electronics: ENS power delivers 11.6 VDC / 500 mA for Hiperface or EnDat sensors, and the EN2 line supplies 5.0 VDC / 350 mA for TTL or 1 Vpp feedback, which helps prevent supply sag when both channels are active. The fieldbus can be bypassed for local parameter access through the built-in RS232 service port. For hardwired signaling, two form-C contacts carry up to 24 VDC / 1 A, enabling fault reporting or brake release without using the main digital outputs. Separate feedback supplies and relay contacts let the unit handle mixed encoder and machine-interface wiring on the same control assembly.
