The CDB02.1B-ET-EC-EC-NN-L3-L3-NN-NN-NW is a dual-axis control unit produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the CDB Control Units series. Designed to work with the HMD01 power section, the module coordinates servo drives and peripheral devices in automated machinery. By combining signal conditioning, real-time fieldbus links, and drive logic in one housing, it serves as the central command element in packaging lines, material-handling cells, and general factory automation.
For precise analog feedback, the controller offers 2 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs rated at ±10 V, enabling closed-loop speed or pressure regulation with external transducers and actuators. Discrete machine states are monitored through 14 digital inputs, while eight terminals can be configured as either inputs or outputs to accommodate specialty sensors or interlocks. Four probe inputs capture position triggers with microsecond resolution. Network traffic is handled by the Multi-Ethernet interface, and the ET layer supports 100Base-TX signaling over an RJ-45 8-pin connector for links to higher-level PLCs. The internal EC channels digitize encoder signals using a 12-bit converter with an input resistance of 120 ohms, and they accept square-wave frequencies up to 1000 kHz for reliable sampling of high-speed motors.
To coordinate motion, the unit controls 2 controlled axes from a single hardware platform. Each axis can accept feedback from 2 Multi-Encoder interfaces, allowing combinations such as EnDat, SSI, or incremental encoders for redundant or mixed feedback modes. Drive-integrated safety is delivered through STO on both axes, which removes power to the motor windings when a safe torque-off request is detected.
