The HCS IndraDrive Controllers series from Bosch Rexroth Indramat comprises modular drive controllers built from a power section (HCS) and a plug-in control section.
The power section provides the core power and interface hardware, including mains connection (for HCS units), motor power output with optional motor holding-brake and motor-temperature connections, a required 24 V control supply input, DC-bus terminals for shared bus systems, and a module-bus interface, with HCS designs also supporting an external braking resistor connection where applicable. In the HCS01 range specifically, listed UL/CSA variants are designed for 1- or 3-phase 110–230 VAC mains and generate a 3-phase 0–230 VAC output with an output frequency range up to 1600 Hz, while the electronics are supplied by a 24 VDC control input (±20%). The series is specified for industrial electrical installations with defined safety and installation requirements, including pollution degree 2 and a short-circuit current rating of 42 kA rms for the UL-rated HCS01 devices. These controllers are intended for use in industrial machines and systems and are classified as EMC Category C3 (restricted distribution), which means the drive system typically requires appropriate interference-suppression measures such as mains filtering and shielding.
