Drive converters like those in the HCS series of the IndraDrive Cs family are components of the highly efficient Rexroth IndraDrive drive system. They are functional units with different interfaces, allowing them to be used for diverse applications. Some of these applications are seen in general automation, machine tools, and food processing and packaging machines.

The HCS01.1E-W0054-A-03-A-CC-EC-EM-L4-NN-FW is a compact drive converter in the HCS series by Bosch Rexroth. It is an IP 20-rated model according to EN 60529, meaning that it is impermeable to solid extrinsic objects over 12mm. Thanks to its compact size, its installation within a control cabinet is simplified. Its cooling is done via an internal airflow within this control cabinet. Like other HCS models, this drive converter has a multi-encoder interface for standard encoder systems with 5V and 12V supply voltage ratings. The compatible encoders include the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with Hiperface, the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with EnDat 2.1, and the MS2N motor encoder.

Operating the HCS01.1E-W0054-A-03-A-CC-EC-EM-L4-NN-FW should be done with a three-phase AC mains voltage between 200V and 500V. The drive converter is suited for control sections in the ADVANCED range and has a maximum current rating of 54A. It has the Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Brake Control (SBC) safety technology option and has an encoder emulation interface. This interface allows absolute value and incremental encoder signals to be emulated for further evaluation by a control unit. The signals are galvanically isolated from the circuit board. Firmware use is supported with the drive converter, but this must be obtained separately. Additionally, it is equipped with a standard control panel with a single-line display.
