Designed with communication interfaces that support several protocols, the converters of the IndraDrive Cs family by Bosch Rexroth allow wide-range communication without hardware modification. They are part of the highly functional Rexroth IndraDrive drive platform with other components like motors and gearboxes, power units, and accessories. This drive system has applications that include general automation, machine tools, and paper processing machines.

The HCS01.1E-W0054-A-03-B-ET-EC-PB-S4-NN-FW is one of Bosch Rexroth’s IndraDrive Cs converters. Like others in the series, it has a compact, space-conserving build and supports forced ventilation for the elimination of heat. The allowed switching frequencies at which it can be operated are 4kHz, 8kHz, and 12kHz, while its designated supply voltage is a three-phase AC voltage between 200V and 500V. Additionally, its continuous current rating is 21.0 A, while its permitted maximum current is 54.0 A. This converter belongs to the IP 20 protection category according to EN 60529; hence, solid extrinsic objects of 12mm or more cannot penetrate it to cause damage. Its supported control unit type is BASIC UNIVERSAL, while it communicates with other components of the system via Multi-Ethernet.

Firmware use is supported with the HCS01.1E-W0054-A-03-B-ET-EC-PB-S4-NN-FW, but it must be ordered separately. It allows the connection of encoders with a 5V and 12V supply voltage, including the sin-cos encoder (1Vp) with EnDat 2.1, the sin-cos encoder (1Vp) with Hiperface, the sin-cos encoder (1Vp) with reference track, and the MSM and MS2N motor encoders. With Safe Motion as its safety technology option, users are protected during its operation.  The standard control panel of the converter has a programming module function, and it plays a vital role in ensuring fault resolution.
