Bosch Rexroth is the brain behind the highly functional multi-protocol-capable drive converters of the HCS series. They are compact components of the efficient Rexroth IndraDrive drive system with diverse applications. Their target applications include robotics, machine tools, and printing and paper processing machines.

The HCS01.1E-W0013-A-02-B-ET-EC-EM-L4-NN-FW is an HCS drive converter with a Multi-Ethernet communication module. This allows it to be integrated in several Ethernet field bus systems, such as sercos III, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET IO, and EtherCAT. It also has an encoder emulation interface for emulating absolute value and incremental encoder signals. The signals are galvanically isolated from the circuit board and further evaluated by a control unit. This HCS drive converter’s Ingress Protection rating is IP 20 according to EN 60529 as it is impervious to solid external objects over 12mm. It is cooled by forced air cooling, aided by natural convection. Its G1 mounting within a control cabinet supports this cooling mechanism and prevents the formation of pockets of heat.

Encoders like the MS2N motor encoder, the MSK motor encoder, the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with reference track and the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with EnDat 2.1 can be connected to the HCS01.1E-W0013-A-02-B-ET-EC-EM-L4-NN-FW. The drive converter has a multi-encoder interface that facilitates this connection for encoders with supply voltage ratings of 5V and 12V. It is equipped with a standard control panel with a single-line display and four operating keys. This panel serves as a programming module and is used to trigger simple commands. Users can also view the unit’s operating status, command and error diagnoses and pending warnings. It should be operated at a maximum ambient temperature of 40^oC.
