Bosch Rexroth is the designer of the IndraDrive Cs drive converters of the Rexroth IndraDrive drive system. They are compact control units used to control electric motors and monitor their operations. Typical applications of the drive converters include machine tools and general automation.

The HCS01.1E-W0005-A-03-B-ET-EC-EP-L3-NN-FW is one of the highly functional drive converters in the HCS series by Bosch Rexroth. It has a multi-encoder interface for encoder systems with 5V and 12V supply voltages, such as the 5V-TTL square-wave encoder with reference track and the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with EnDat 2.1. Equipped with a Multi-Ethernet master communication module, it supports connectivity via Ethernet-based interfaces like sercos III, PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP, and EtherCAT. The drive converter has an Engineering port and a standard control panel with a single-line display. This control panel is a valuable tool for fault identification and resolution as users can view its operating states on its display.

Control sections in the BASIC control section range are compatible with the HCS01.1E-W0005-A-03-B-ET-EC-EP-L3-NN-FW. It accommodates a maximum current of 5A and uses a three-phase AC voltage between 200V and 500V. According to EN 60529, it belongs to the IP 20 protection class, indicating that it will not admit solid extrinsic objects over 12mm. Its compact construction supports its mounting in a control cabinet where it is cooled by an internal cooling system. The integrated safety technology option in the device is Safe Torque Off (STO), a mechanism that prevents the drive from restarting spontaneously. Firmware use is supported with this HCS model, but it must be ordered as a separate sub-item. It allows a maximum installation height of 1000m.
