The Bosch HCS01.1E-W0018-A-02-B-ET-EC-PB-L4-NN-FW is a digital drive controller. It has a modular architecture that allows installation of optional hardware modules. The controller is equipped with two factory-installed hardware modules. One of the hardware modules support Profibus, a communication protocol used for the exchange of data between automation devices.  Profibus offers several advantages for industrial automation: it a high data transfer rate, making it well-suited for fast-moving production environments. Profibus uses error correction and retransmission mechanisms to ensure that data is transmitted accurately and consistently. The other hardware modules installed on the HCS01.1E-W0018-A-02-B-ET-EC-PB-L4-NN-FW supports two safety features: safe torque off and safe brake control. Both of these features are designed to prevent accidents and damage caused by unintentional motor movement. Integrated features on the controller include a multi-encoder interface and a Multi-Ethernet interface.  Bosch provides a standard control panel with the controller. This type of controller must be connected before the controller is powered on. The control panel has a digital LCD display and four buttons that operators can use for programing and monitoring. Input voltage range for the HCS01.1E-W0018-A-02-B-ET-EC-PB-L4-NN-FW controller is 110 to 230 Volts AC (three-phase). The maximum output current is 18 Amps. Bosch provides the controller in an IP20 rated enclosure. Operators must order controller firmware separate from the hardware. Trained personnel should handle and operate the controller.
