Bosch Rexroth manufactures solutions for automation challenges in the global drive industry, and one of such is the HCS01 drive converter. These drive converters have a compact design and integrated safety technology. Communications are mostly Ethernet-based, but they also function with conventional communications such as the PROFIBUS network. They are used to automate multiple processes, including general automation, machine tools, printing machines, and the semiconductor industry.

The HCS01.1E-W0005-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-L3-NN-PW is a drive converter designed for BASIC UNIVERSAL control sections. It has a maximum current of 5A and a three-phase mains connection voltage requirement of AC 200 to 500 V with a ±10% tolerance. This drive converter has a multi-encoder interface that functions with several standard encoders. Hence, it is suitable for Indradyn and third-party motors with a continuous output of 0.05 kW to 9 kW. Control communication in this HCS converter is the sercos III or EtherCAT interface.

With an Ingress Protection rating of IP 20, the HCS01.1E-W0005-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-L3-NN-PW is protected from dust, and it prevents the entry of solid objects larger than 12mm. An intelligent standard operating panel with a single-line display is featured in the drive converter. It shows real-time operating states, command and error diagnoses, and pending warnings. This is a valuable tool for identifying faults and tackling them. The drive converter also has a compact design and can be mounted into control cabinets. When mounted in a control cabinet, it is cooled by a cooling airflow via forced air ventilation. It should be operated at an ambient temperature of 0°C to 40°C, relative humidity of 5% to 95%, and set up at a maximum height of 1000m above sea level.
