HCS01.1E-W0008-A-03-A-CC-EC-NN-S4-NN-FW is an HCS series drive controller from Bosch Rexroth. Operators can use HCS series controllers with multiple Bosch motor series including the MSK, MSM, MCL and MS2N. The maximum current output of the controller is 8 Amps. The input voltage range is 200 to 500 Volts AC. The controller only works with three-phase input. The controller has a modular design that can accommodate several plug in modules. Master communication on the controller is SERCOS master that can be used for cross communication. SERCOS (Serial Real-time Communication System) is a real-time communication interface for industrial automation systems, primarily used for control of motion, I/O devices, and drives. It is a standardized, digital, high-speed serial communication protocol that provides real-time communication and motion control in a single network. SERCOS is capable of transmitting large amounts of data between multiple devices, such as controllers, drives, and sensors, with high reliability and low latency.

The controller also features a multi-encoder interface module. In addition a safety module that supports safe motion is also installed on the unit.  The HCS01.1E-W0008-A-03-A-CC-EC-NN-S4-NN-FW is based on an advanced control section. Its works with a standard control panel that does not support hot plug. Firmware for the unit must be ordered as a separate item. The controller enclosure is IP20 rated. This rating indicates protection from solids with 12 millimeter or larger dimensions. However the enclosure does not provide protection against dust or liquids. Therefore a suitable cabinet must be used for protection against dust and moisture. The controller cools via forced air cooling. It releases the heated air inside the cabinet. Only trained and qualified technical personnel should operate the controller and associated equipment.
