Bosch Rexroth’s IndraDrive Cs drive system is the solution to the need for open, seamless design in drive and motion control. One of the components is the HCS drive converter, which works with other components to control and monitor electric motors. Target applications of these converters include food processing and packaging machines, general automation, and machine tools.

The HCS01.1E-W0006-A-02-A-CC-EC-EM-L4-NN-FW is a compact drive converter in the HCS series designed for control sections in the ADVANCED range by Bosch Rexroth. As a component of the IndraDrive Cs system, it communicates with a sercos III module, which serves as the master for cross-communication. It also has a multi-encoder interface, allowing the connection of several standard encoder types. These include the MSK motor encoder, the MS2N motor encoder, the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with reference track, and the 5V-TTL square-wave encoder with reference track. These encoders have supply voltage ratings of 5V and 12V. Operating the drive converter is done with a three-phase AC mains voltage between 110V and 230V as its mains connecting voltage. It also accommodates a maximum current of 6A.

An encoder emulation interface is also present in the HCS01.1E-W0006-A-02-A-CC-EC-EM-L4-NN-FW for emulating absolute value and incremental encoder signals for further evaluation by a control unit. The drive converter is cooled by an internal cooling mechanism in the control cabinet where it is mounted. It is compact and supports the G1 mounting style within this cabinet. Acceptable switching frequencies for its operation are 4kHz, 8kHz, 12kHz, and 16kHz. This HCS model belongs to the IP 20 protection class, indicating that it is dustproof and safe from the penetration of solid external objects over 12mm.
