The KSM Motor Integrated Servo Drives from Bosch Rexroth Indramat comprise distributed IndraDrive Mi servo drive units with integrated motor and electronics, designed for flange mounting and installation directly on the machine.
A KSM unit is intended to be operated only in conjunction with an electronic control system KCU and is addressed on the SERCOS network using onboard selector switches or by setting the drive address parameter via the RS232 service interface (X2). Power is provided through a 540–750 VDC DC bus with a separate 30–42 VDC control supply, and the KSM is specified for industrial operation with IP65 protection (UL Type 4X conditions) and defined ambient operating limits. Electrical integration is based on hybrid cabling at X3.1/X3.2, and grounding requirements include the protective earth path in the hybrid cable plus a defined second grounding connection point when installation conditions demand it due to leakage current. For commissioning and service, KSM supports IndraWorks-based startup and diagnostics, uses an MMC memory card to retain firmware/parameters for fast replacement, and provides local status indication via a tricolor diagnostic LED along with onboard digital I/O connections.
