The KSM02.1B-041C-42N-S1-HP2-ET-L3-D7-NN-FW is a motor-integrated servo drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the KSM Motor Integrated Servo Drives series. By combining a permanent-magnet synchronous motor and drive electronics in one housing, it mounts directly on moving axes and reduces the number of separate components that must be installed nearby. In decentralized automation, the unit provides closed-loop motion control at the machine frame, which helps shorten cable runs, reduce panel heat, and keep real-time communication close to the driven axis.
Power reaches the unit through a Hybrid Connector that carries the DC bus, signals, and brake lines in one sealed plug. The inverter operates from a common supply of DC 750 V, so several drives can share a centralized rectifier and a common power structure. Motion commands and diagnostics travel over Multi-Ethernet, and automatic protocol selection allows the same hardware to operate on PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, or EtherCAT networks without changing the physical connection concept. Rotor position is captured through a Hiperface optical interface with 128 signal periods per electrical turn, which supports smooth commutation and stable feedback processing. Heat is removed through natural convection, so the drive does not require an internal fan and can be mounted where ambient air is free to circulate around the housing. An electrically released brake supplied with DC 24 V holds the axis when the motor is disabled, which helps prevent unintended movement at standstill. The integrated safety function Safe Torque Off (STO) removes torque-producing power from the output stage without interrupting fieldbus communication, allowing status information to remain available during a safe stop condition. Mechanical output is transmitted through a shaft with a keyway, and a fitted shaft seal helps limit the entry of dust and fluids around the shaft opening.
