Product Description:
The KSM02.1B-071C-35N-M1-HP2-ET-L3-D7-NN-FW is a motor-integrated servo drive built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the KSM Motor Integrated Servo Drives series. By combining a size 071 permanent-magnet motor, power electronics, and fieldbus interfaces in one enclosure, it reduces panel wiring and shortens cable runs between the inverter section and the axis on multi-axis machinery. In industrial automation, the unit executes position, speed, and torque commands directly at the axis, supporting decentralized architectures on packaging, handling, and assembly lines where compact installation and distributed drive placement are required.
The drive accepts a supply of DC 750 V from the central supply, and this bus voltage supports fast acceleration with winding 35 in the basic performance configuration. Power, brake, and communication conductors reach the unit through a single hybrid connector, which simplifies wiring and reduces the number of separate cable entries. Heat from the inverter is removed by natural convection, so no external fan is needed when the length C housing is exposed to free air. Rotor position returns over the Hiperface link from an optical multi-turn encoder, allowing absolute position information after power is restored. Functional safety is delivered through Safe Torque Off (STO), which removes motor torque when the safety chain opens.
The axis is equipped with an electrically released holding brake that engages automatically when the 24 V control supply is removed, securing vertical or suspended loads. Motion data is captured at 128 signal periods per mechanical revolution, and those values reach the controller over the Multi-Ethernet interface. The unit is Series 2 with design version 1, and the interface supports PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and EtherCAT. Mechanical power is transferred through a shaft with a keyway. A factory-installed shaft seal keeps lubricant inside the standard housing.
