The VLT 2800 Low Voltage Drives series is a compact family of Danfoss frequency converters built for variable-speed control of standard three-phase asynchronous motors across low-voltage single-phase and three-phase supply ranges.
The series covers a broad power span from fractional-kilowatt units up to larger 18.5 kW models, and it is offered in 200–240 V and 380–480 V versions to match different installation requirements. Standard units use IP20 enclosures with options for higher enclosure protection, integrated brake capability, and RFI filtering to support panel-based industrial installations and EMC compliance. Operation and setup are handled through an integral control unit with LED status indication, while an optional remote LCP 2 panel adds a multi-line alphanumeric display for more detailed commissioning and monitoring. The platform also supports serial communication over RS-485 and can be equipped for networks such as Profibus and DeviceNet, making it suitable for applications that need both motor control and system-level integration.
