Product Description:
The 195N1074 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT 2800 Low Voltage Drives series. It regulates three-phase induction motors in automated conveyors, fans, and pump skids by converting fixed-frequency mains power into variable-frequency output power. This controlled output allows the connected motor to operate at the speed required by the application instead of running continuously at line frequency. The housing includes an integral brake module that directs excess kinetic energy to an external resistor during deceleration. This arrangement supports fast, controlled stopping without requiring a separate brake chopper.
This model provides a continuous motor output of 0.75 kW while drawing a rated input current of 8.1 A from the supply. The inverter has a continuous output current of 9.1 A and can sustain an overload current of 14.5 A for short periods to support momentary acceleration demands. Electrical energy is converted with an efficiency of 96%, which limits heat generation and reduces cabinet ventilation requirements. Recommended dynamic braking components include a minimum resistor value of 99 Ω and a preferred value of 110 Ω. The braking circuit supports up to 1.60 kW of resistor power during controlled stops. Because the drive has no built-in radio-frequency interference filter, external suppression must be installed when the application is subject to stringent electromagnetic compatibility limits. The thermal relay is set to 3.8 A so downstream protection can respond if the motor current exceeds the selected threshold.
The motor shaft output is rated at 1.0 HP, making the drive suitable for small industrial machines that require precise speed control. Upstream circuit protection permits a maximum fuse rating of 20 A. The drive has a short-circuit current rating of up to 100,000 A when installed with the required protective equipment. Internal power loss at full load is limited to 200 W, helping control cabinet temperature in compact enclosures. The assembly weighs 3.7 kg, which must be considered when selecting the mounting surface and fasteners. Its integral brake module connects to the recommended external resistor through the designated braking terminals. Repetitive stopping cycles must remain within the braking circuit’s power and duty-cycle limits to prevent excessive thermal loading.
