The 195N0042 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT 2800 Low Voltage Drives series. As a compact inverter, it controls the speed of small induction motors used throughout process lines, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment. By adjusting output frequency and voltage, the unit allows motor speed to follow real-time load requirements, reducing energy consumption and mechanical wear in automated plants.

This drive connects to an industrial mains supply rated at 200–240 V AC and delivers a continuous mechanical output of 1.1 kW, equivalent to 1.5 HP. The enclosure meets the IP20 protection class, guarding against finger contact with live parts while leaving ventilation openings exposed for airflow inside a switch cabinet. A slim book-style housing allows multiple drives to be mounted side by side on DIN rails, conserving panel width in decentralized control boxes. The circuit boards do not have a conformal coating. Installation should therefore remain in a clean, dry environment to prevent conductive dust or moisture from damaging internal components.

Operator interaction is handled through the built-in display (SLCP), which shows setpoints, fault codes, and parameter numbers without requiring a remote keypad. The drive has a standard configuration with a brake, meaning an internal brake chopper is available to dissipate regenerative energy during rapid deceleration. Because the unit has no integrated EMC filter, external radio-frequency interference suppression must be added where conducted emissions limits apply. The drive is configured for the Process application group, which provides parameter settings suited to constant-torque loads such as positive-displacement pumps. No additional application option boards are included, so control signals use the standard terminal set and serial connections available on the base model.
