The 195N1055 variable frequency drive is produced by Danfoss for the VLT 2800 Low Voltage Drives series. This compact inverter converts fixed-frequency mains power into a controlled output that allows automation systems to regulate motor speed and torque electronically instead of relying on mechanical dampers or contactors. In conveyors, centrifugal pumps, and fan modules, it provides soft starts, controlled acceleration, and programmable ramps. The drive also uses the parameter structure found throughout the series, providing a consistent interface for configuration and operation.
Power enters the drive through a three-pole terminal block that accepts 380–480 V AC ±10% at 50/60 Hz from a three-phase power source. Under rated load, the converter draws up to 3.6 kVA of apparent power, which should be considered when sizing upstream circuit breakers and contactors. The housing carries an IP20 enclosure rating, so it protects against accidental finger contact but requires installation inside a closed panel in dusty areas. For networked control, the front panel includes a serial communication slot fitted with Profibus DP. This interface allows parameter changes and status words to travel through the plant fieldbus without hardwired analog signals, enabling multiple drives to communicate with one master while retaining individual cyclic diagnostics.
The converter delivers 0.55 kW of electrical output power, equivalent to 0.75 HP, making it suitable for auxiliary axes or process pumps that remain within this output capacity. The chassis measures 267.5 × 90 × 168 mm, allowing it to fit on a narrow mounting plate or back panel with suitable clearance for airflow along the heat sink. Its compact width helps conserve enclosure space when several drives are installed beside one another. At 3.7 kg, the unit can be supported by standard enclosure hardware without additional bracing.
