The 178B5027 is a frequency drive controller designed by Danfoss Automation to improve automation efficiency by accurately monitoring the speed, position, and general operation of motor units. This converter is a high-voltage device that should be handled with a high level of care to prevent electrical accidents. It must also be properly grounded in accordance with national and local regulations. The 178B5027 features an electronic thermal relay that allows providing connected motors with reliable overload protection according to international standards. However, the thermal protection feature is not configured into the drive as a standard; it is the responsibility of the operator to initiate this feature by setting the Parameter 128 for “ETR TRIP”.
The cooling of the 178B5027 frequency converter is carried out by cool air circulation, air flow is generated by an internal fan that is installed into the drive. After the installation of this product, a minimum clearance of about 100 millimeters should be allowed above and below this product for an easy flow of cooling air. Customers should also ensure the ambient temperature surrounding this product is not higher than 55 degrees. Operation of this product without derating is only possible in an ambient temperature that is below 45 degrees Celsius. The 178B5027 does not require side cooling, and can be installed side-by-side together with other units in the same product series.
