The 195N1038 is a low-voltage AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT 2800 Low Voltage Drives series. As a member of the VLT product group, this unit regulates the speed of standard induction motors in process plants, allowing pumps, fans, and conveyors to run only as fast as the application demands. Integrating the converter into an automated line reduces energy consumption and minimizes the mechanical wear associated with across-the-line starting.
The drive delivers a continuous mechanical output of 2.0 HP, equivalent to a nominal electrical rating of 1.5 kW. It accepts a mains supply of 380–480 V and automatically compensates for a ±10% line fluctuation, so the inverter remains stable on lightly regulated utility feeds. Operation with a 3-phase input ensures balanced current draw and permits full torque at low speed. The internal electronics have an IP20 rating, which prevents fingers and similarly sized objects from contacting live parts, but the unit must be mounted in a clean control cabinet. The drive includes standard brake capability, allowing its internal switching circuit to connect to an external braking resistor that absorbs regenerated energy during rapid deceleration.
The slim book-style housing saves panel width, and the front-mounted built-in display provides local access to operating parameters without requiring an additional module. Compatibility with 50/60 Hz line frequencies allows the unit to operate on commonly used industrial power systems in different regions. Because the drive is supplied without an integrated filter, additional electromagnetic compatibility components may be required when conducted emissions must remain within applicable industrial limits. The drive is also supplied without an application option, fieldbus interface, or conformal coating.
