The Rexroth MHP Synchronous Motor series consists of permanent-magnet synchronous AC servo motors with electronic commutation, designed to form compact, quick-response drive packages when used with POWERDRIVE controllers.
The motors are built with a sealed housing for industrial environments (standard IP65, with an optional sealing-air connection to achieve a higher protection level in coolant/oil exposure) and include temperature monitoring for overload protection. MHP motors are offered in multiple frame sizes and torque classes, with cooling configurations that include natural convection, optional radial surface cooling on selected sizes, and liquid cooling on specific types for higher continuous performance. Feedback is provided by an integrated incremental encoder system (optical, 2048 lines with 1 Vss sine signals and reference track) to support speed control and positioning. Mechanical and application options described in the manual include plain or keyed shafts, a 24 VDC holding brake that is electrically released for axis holding when power is removed, standardized separate power and feedback plug connections, and suitability for machines such as machine tools, packaging, printing, textile, robots, and handling systems.
