The MAC AC Servo Motors from Bosch Rexroth Indramat comprise rapid-response, permanent magnet-excited AC servo motors with electronic commutation, intended to be used with drive controllers such as the TDM, KDS, and DSC for dynamic axis control.
These motors are engineered for low inertia and strong torque-to-inertia performance, supporting high overload capability, wide usable peak-torque range, and smooth running characteristics driven in part by the series-specific high-resolution tachofeedback design. For durability in industrial environments, the motor housing is fully enclosed to IP65 (including power, tacho, and encoder cable designs to IP65 demands) and motor temperature is monitored via thermo switches integrated in the windings and stator housing to help prevent overload damage. Standard feedback always includes integrated tachofeedback for speed and rotor position, with optional position evaluation via a mounted incremental or absolute encoder, or a second shaft end for mounting a customer encoder, depending on the motor configuration. The series offers mechanical and integration options such as a 24 VDC holding brake for axis clamping at standstill, plain or keyed output shaft designs, standardized connector-based cabling, and optional surface-cooling (axial or radial, by motor type) for extreme-duty or high repetition start/stop applications.
