It relies on natural convection for cooling and has thermo switches permanently installed in its windings. They protect it from irreversible damage due to thermal overload. Rare-earth materials in the rotor of the MAC servo motor give it a low inertia and enhance its performance and power density. These materials are also resistant to demagnetization with a stable magnetic field over time, resulting in reliable and consistent motor performance. Pinions and belt pulleys can be directly mounted onto the motor’s shaft because the design of the bearing assembly enables the application of high radial loads.
